Finding myself🩷

English – Sahih International

Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allāh and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.

TheUmmWhoWrites is not just a hobby for me, this is me finding myself as I write. As I write I unravel a part of me, a part of me I perhaps had lost. I write to help others too in shaa Allaah. Sometimes feeling lost in life after marriage and more so after having children. There’s been many challenges along the way but الحمدلله for them all as I have become a stronger person and maturing as I grow. Allaah knows all our struggles and we just need to raise our hands and make dua to our Creator. If you are going through something hard in life, know that our Lord will not forsake us, He is there for us we just need to ask Him and trust in His Divine Plan. Tawakkul is easier said than done but it is to have complete trust in Him as Allaah does not dissappoint us. There is Hikmah (wisdom) behind everything and we must accept the Qadr of Allaah.

One of those days, not feeling good enough. No matter how hard you try sometimes, it feels like you can never be good enough… Not a good enough wife, mother, daughter, daughter in law etc. Sometimes you really need to draw the line and give yourself a break, you’re not going to be perfect. You’re going to make mistakes and you will break down some days and that’s okay. It’s about how you pick yourself up and become stronger. Don’t let the comments get to you because what truly matters is how Allaah Sees you. Ask yourself: are you being a good Muslim? Are you fulfiling your duties for the sake of Allaah? Are you asking Allaah for help? The moment you let go, that’s when real peace occurs. Let people say what they want, you yourself should know your worth and know that their words *do not* define you! A dear person once said to me kill them with kindness and that’s one of the best advices. At the same time you need to have some boundaries of course; let people know your boundaries. You reading this right now (yes you)you are amazing and wonderful and don’t let anyone say otherwise. Allaah sees all your sacrifices, so do not think for a second they’re in vain. Do things for the sake of Allaah and you will not be dissappointed! Do things for the people and you will be!

Remind yourself this life is short, Jannah is our goal in shaa Allaah. Are you running to Allaah for help as soon as a problem occurs or are you running to tell someone? (guilty myself) The Qur’an should be our source of comfort. But how many times are we reading the Qur’an and reflecting upon it?

May Allaah aid us all to get closer to Allaah this Ramadan and make us from the people of the Qur’an Aameen 🩷

This is a poem I wrote about 8 years ago and I thought it related to this post (not my best), so here it is:

WALKING FORWARD TO OPTIMISM❤️

Why do I feel awkward?

As I walk forward

I feel as if everyone’s staring at me

Myself is all they see

Pinpointing everything I do

Judging my choice of clothes too

Staring at how I walk

Or listening to how I talk

I remind myself it’s okay

Everyone’s just minding their own way

Go on, walk forward

Without feeling awkward

Forget the voices that you hear

Your destination is near

Everyone’s worried about themselves

They themselves need help

So, please don’t care about the people

Your life they don’t rule

You’re amazing and wonderful

Handsome or beautiful

You’re not a bore

But one thing you can improve on for sure

Is your self-confidence

Be the best version of yourself and be less tense

Allah created you

You’re not just a random ‘who’

Remember you can do so much

There’s nothing stopping you as such

If Allah wills you can reach for the sky

But would you even try

Or would you just deny

Remember positive vibes only

So, keep smiling and stay happy!
